Relaxation Techniques: Mediation, Tapping and Breathing Exercises

Personal Support Workers have no problems nurturing others, but often overlook caring for themselves. Stress, burnout, insomnia, and depression are serious threats that can happen as a result. One way to overcome these threats is to integrate relaxation techniques like breathing exercises, tapping, and meditation into your daily relaxation regime.

Mediation

Meditation is a set of techniques to train your mind. These techniques include mindfulness, visualization, guided, and mantra meditation. Meditation has proven scientific benefits that help you to focus, sleep better, increase self-awareness, and bring mental calmness during difficult situations.

Tapping

Tapping, also referred to as EFT, is a technique that helps manage and release everyday stress. Tapping blends ancient theories of acupuncture with modern psychology that acknowledge a physical or emotional problem and affirm your body’s ability to overcome it.

Breathing

Breathing exercises have many scientifically proven benefits to overall well-being. Bringing awareness to the breath helps to calm and disengage from distracting thoughts and sensations and help to overcome anxiety and pain.
